Becoming familiar with all the parts involved will not only assist you in gaining confidence when asking questions and let you easily communicate your needs.
1: Head
Heads are the primary horizontal component that forms part of the frame.
2: Argon Gas
Argon Gas is a colorless inert gas introduced into the glass unit’s airspace. It gets used to improve the efficiency of energy use overall.
3: Frame
The frame is the primary component that supports the entire system and keeps the sashes together.
4: Simulated Divided Lites
Simulated Divided Lites, also called SDLs, are tiny grille bars placed on both the exterior and inside of the glass, which split the glass into smaller segments.
5: Sash
The sash is a part of the frame used to hold the glass. The amount you slide to open the windows get called the sash if you have single-hung windows.
6: Pane
The pane is self-explanatory but essential. The pane is a frame of glass inserted into the window.
7: Glazing
Glazing is the act or procedure of putting windows with glass.
8: Sill
Silly is the top horizontal piece that makes up the bottom window’s frame.
