One pane fogs in a combination
Identify the individual unit rather than measuring the complete frame. Each section can have different dimensions or safety needs.
Replacing one foggy pane is not only a sizing exercise. Coating, tint, spacer, grids and reflections affect how the repaired window looks beside the original glass.
An existing Fenomax combination window may contain several separate insulated glass units. When only one seal fails, glass-only replacement can preserve the frame—but the new unit should be specified with the neighbouring panes in mind.
Windows Hamilton checks overall thickness, glass treatment, spacer colour, internal or surface grids, safety requirements and the appearance of adjacent units. Exact visual matching cannot always be guaranteed because original coatings and components may have changed or aged.
We provide independent assessment after any applicable Fenomax warranty route has been checked. We do not claim to be the manufacturer, its warranty administrator or a loose-parts retailer.
Mark the exact pane and photograph the entire grouping so proportions and matching requirements remain clear.
Identify the individual unit rather than measuring the complete frame. Each section can have different dimensions or safety needs.
Internal bars, removable grilles and simulated divisions require different matching. Photograph intersections and bar width.
Low-E coatings, tint, sky and interior light can change colour and reflection. Review acceptable variation before ordering.
The retained frame and sash must be serviceable, and the new unit should be documented for future maintenance.

Measure the exact failed pane and record thickness, coating, spacer, gas fill, safety glass and any decorative divisions.
Review sealed units
Compare bar profile, colour and pattern with neighbouring panes. A close match may be possible, but discontinued details should be discussed openly.
Review combination windows
Before reglazing an operable sash, confirm hinges, balances, rollers and locks can continue to support and seal the repaired unit.
Review sash repairA single failed unit can often be addressed independently when the surrounding frame, sash and other panes remain dependable.
Consider a complete composition when multiple seals have failed, operating sashes are weak or exterior proportions need to change.
Even when dimensions are exact, a new pane may look brighter or more reflective beside older Fenomax glass. Spacer technology and grid components may also differ from the original production period.
Photographs help establish the goal, but final decisions should use available samples and documented glass data. If an exact match is essential across a prominent grouping, replacing several related units may deserve consideration.

Send a full-window photo marked to identify the exact unit that fogs or is broken.
Include close-ups of bar width, intersections, colour and printed spacer information.
Take a daylight photo at an angle so differences in tint or coating are easier to discuss.
Report whether it opens, stays in position, closes squarely and locks without force.
Send Windows Hamilton a marked full-window photo, close-ups of grids and spacer labels, and the affected pane’s approximate size. We will assess sealed-glass replacement, matching limits and the condition of the sash that will remain.
