Crank spins without moving the sash
The operator or connection may be stripped or detached. Continuing to turn it can enlarge the damage and complicate identification.
Custom-measured glass and screen work may remain possible after a window warranty ends. Proprietary cranks, locks and sash components require a more cautious availability check.
An insulated glass unit is fabricated to measured dimensions and glass specifications. Screen mesh can often be renewed in a serviceable frame. Those projects differ from sourcing a brand-specific crank operator, lock, balance, glazing bead or sash extrusion.
Windows Hamilton assesses existing Dalmen windows without promising that specialized proprietary components remain available. We first determine whether the main issue is glass, screen, alignment, hardware or deterioration in the frame itself.
There is no walk-in parts department. Photos of the installed window and hardware are required before a service route can be recommended, and some mechanical failures may ultimately point to sash or full-window replacement.
How the handle, lock and sash behave helps distinguish adjustment from broken or unavailable hardware.
The operator or connection may be stripped or detached. Continuing to turn it can enlarge the damage and complicate identification.
Sash sag, hinge wear, frame movement or lock alignment may be involved. Replacing the lock alone is not always the answer.
Weather seals, sash compression, hardware alignment and perimeter installation should be reviewed before blaming the insulated glass.
A clear scope states what is being retained, what is being replaced and which unknowns could change the recommendation.

Fogged or broken insulated glass may be reproduced to verified dimensions when the sash and glazing system remain suitable for reglazing.
Review thermopane service
Photos, dimensions and stamped numbers help identify an operator or lock. Assessment does not guarantee that a compatible Dalmen-era component exists.
Review window repair
A straight removable screen may be remeshed. Missing or damaged frames require corner, channel and clearance measurements before replacement is considered.
Review screen repairRepair is easier to justify when the retained sash is stable and the replacement component can be specified without relying on discontinued proprietary geometry.
If the sash cannot operate, lock or seal and compatible hardware is unavailable, full replacement may provide a more complete and warrantable result.
Windows sold under one brand can span different years, series, frame depths and hardware suppliers. A logo alone is not enough to order an operator, lock or glazing component. Stamped codes, arm length, hole spacing and sash profile matter.

Send Windows Hamilton full-window photos, hardware close-ups, any stamped identifiers and a short video description of what moves or binds. We can assess measurable glass and screen work and explain when uncertain hardware supply changes the recommendation.
